ATLANTA – July 28, 2025 – Commercial Real Estate Partner, Lee Anne Sapp, was recently featured on Law.com, where she discussed the project agreements for The Gathering at South Forsyth, a $3 billion mixed-use development aimed at attracting an NHL team.
The project will include commercial, retail, hospitality, residential, and entertainment spaces, in addition to an 18,000-seat arena. Lee Anne Sapp represented Forsyth County and collaborated with Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, who advised developer Krause Sports and Entertainment, to navigate complex financing and real estate agreements, which have since been approved.
“The approvals from the county government and Florida-based developer Krause Sports and Entertainment were finalized in June after the county government approved the definitive documents for the entire project. It now moves into the next phase of development that includes drafting and negotiating real estate agreements, and the various governmental entities involved in the deal approving the form and substance of the agreements,” Sapp said.
This project is a significant step in bringing a professional hockey team back to Atlanta. The city has been without a team since 2011, when the Atlanta Thrashers relocated to Winnipeg, Canada.
