Gerald Pouncey on The Past and Future of Brownfield Developments

MMM Chairman, Gerald Pouncey, spoke with Law360 regarding all aspects of Brownfield development and shares his over 35 years of experience.

Turning real estate that previously held heavy industry or manufacturing facilities isn’t easy work, but it is an integral part of the economic development, especially in the many cities where land for new housing or other uses is increasingly hard to find, said Pouncey.

Pouncey has been involved in efforts to safely redevelop former industrial properties, known as brownfields, across the U.S. from the beginning in the 1980s. He helped start the firm’s environmental and infrastructure practice and is known nationally for his work on numerous brownfield projects including Atlantic Station in Atlanta.
