Ricardo N. Jackman

Ricardo N. Jackman is a Partner and Chair of MMM’s Sports and Entertainment Law practice. Serving as counsel in business-related matters for clients in the sports and entertainment sector, Ricardo has negotiated contracts and business deals totaling hundreds of millions of dollars over the course of 20 years. He has closed production deals in the music, television, and film industries; acting, modeling, sponsorship, appearance, and live performance agreements; recording contracts; credits for executive producers and producers; marketing endorsement deals; literary and podcasting deals; licensing and sales agreements for professional franchises; and more.

With a clientele comprising primarily of professional athletes, entertainers, and businesses seeking endorsements from athletes and entertainers, he works hand-in-hand with clients’ business teams, like wealth managers, realtors, and CPAs, to support clients throughout their entire professional careers. Ricardo also works with professional franchises and educational institutions’ in-house legal teams to negotiate the most advantageous terms in sales, licensing, sponsorship, service, and exhibit agreements.

Additionally, Ricardo has extensive experience representing and advising student-athletes and educational institutions regarding the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) issue. He has successfully negotiated numerous marketing, branding, endorsement, personal appearance, and influencer deals for student-athletes in the NIL space, and he also works with businesses and brands to negotiate their NIL deals with student-athletes. Ricardo is also a certified NFLPA Contract Advisor and conducts contract negotiations for players involved in professional football leagues ranging from the National Football League (NFL) to the Canadian Football League (CFL), United States Football League (USFL), Indoor Football League (IFL), and XFL.

Ricardo is a member of the Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia. He is also a regular volunteer with educational programs which help children translate interest and love in sports and music into careers.
