Christina Hassan brings over 20 years of in-house and private practice experience to her clients, giving her the industry insight needed to balance the realities of managing a successful hospitality company with the legal skills necessary for effective transactions and ongoing compliance. A practical, business-minded lawyer, Christina partners with her clients to achieve their business objectives. She often works as a strategic extension of her clients’ leadership teams, helping them with the full range of legal issues that come across their desks, including management agreements, operational issues and risk management.
Christina represents hotel operators, private equity funds, real estate investment trusts (REITs), publicly held corporations and real estate developers on transactions involving the acquisition, financing, disposition, development, franchising, leasing and management of hotels, resorts, restaurants and special event facilities. She also counsels clients in structuring investments in hospitality properties. Christina has acted as primary counsel in numerous transactions worldwide, including every continent except Antarctica.
Prior to reentering private practice, Christina was senior vice president and associate general counsel of Morgans Hotel Group, a boutique hotel operator headquartered in New York. While at Morgans, she was responsible for all hotel development matters, and also had primary legal responsibility for creating Morgans' hotel franchise program.
