Atlanta (Oct. 9, 2013) ─ Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP has added a new attorney, Brad Staley, to its Raleigh-Durham office. In addition to being an associate in the firm’s Real Estate practice, Staley is creating a new practice area for the firm serving companies that pursue and hold government contracts.
Before joining MMM, Staley worked for the Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG), where he served as primary legal advisor to Special Operations forces during multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He most recently served as General Counsel to a three-star Commanding General and his staff, as well as the Commanders of ten subordinate commands.
“Brad has worked on government contracts involving companies of all sizes – from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises,” said Keith Burns, who heads the firm’s North Carolina office. “His experience includes both negotiating a wide range of contracts and resolving disputes. He can offer a new range of services to both new and existing clients, which makes him an excellent addition to our team.”
Staley’s military honors include the U.S. Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service, three Defense Meritorious Service Medals, three Joint Commendation Medals, a Joint Achievement Medal and two Navy Commendation Medals as well as a Presidential Unit Commendation and Joint Meritorious Unit Citation. Staley earned his bachelor’s degree cum laude from N.C. State University and his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law.
