Industrial Real Estate Attorney Tammi Parker Joins MMM

12.12.2023

Atlanta (December 2023) – Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP has strengthened its award-winning commercial real estate team by adding experienced industrial attorney Tammi Parker. Parker was previously Senior Vice President of Legal for industrial developer Duke Realty, where she was responsible for legal and related aspects of real estate acquisitions, developments, leasing, management, and dispositions for the real estate investment trust (REIT) and its affiliates. She also served as Assistant Secretary and as a member of the Regional investment committee that approved deals across the Southeast. Parker joined MMM as Special Counsel on Monday, Dec. 4.

“Tammi is a legend in the industrial legal sector,” said Real Estate Practice Chair Matt Sours. “I can attest firsthand that she is a brilliant, business-minded attorney with a reputation as an outstanding person and colleague. When the opportunity arose to explore her joining MMM, we enthusiastically pursued it.”

Parker’s responsibilities at Duke Realty included the development and build-to-suit leasing of Amazon facilities throughout Duke Realty’s nationwide portfolio, and she played a leading role in the company’s $710 million joint venture transaction involving assets leased by Amazon. She regularly managed the outside counsel that supported environmental, construction, land use and litigation projects – a role in which she interacted with MMM attorneys. She also oversaw day-to-day risk management functions of the REIT, organizing and collaborating with a team of lawyers, risk and claims managers, outside brokers and consultants and others.

She also led the complex due diligence process that preceded Duke Realty’s October 2022 acquisition by Prologis, Inc., the world’s largest industrial real estate company. After the transaction closed, Parker took a year off to enjoy her son’s high school senior year and spend time with family.

“We’re extremely grateful that when she decided to return to private practice, she chose MMM over other opportunities,” Sours concluded. “Tammi will be an incredible addition to our team.”

“It was the culture – no questions about it,” Parker responded when asked why she chose MMM. “Everyone made me feel so appreciated that I knew this was the place to be. I look forward to continuing my work in the industrial sector as well as becoming a utility player wherever I’m needed, which I hope will include coaching associates and helping develop young talent.”

Parker’s honors include receiving a 2022 GlobeSt.com Women of Influence Award. She is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and the State Bar of Georgia.

Recognitions for MMM include being named the Daily Report’s Best in Commercial Real Estate for 2023 and entering its inaugural Hall of Fame. In August, Law360 named MMM a Regional Powerhouse, noting how cooperatively the firm’s practice groups interact. The 2023 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business bestowed national rankings on the firm’s Leisure & Hospitality and REIT practices. The Commercial Real Estate Practice earned regional rankings for Georgia and Washington, D.C.
