Gary M. Whaley has been named Special Counsel with Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP in the firm’s Real Estate Development and Finance, Commercial Lending and Corporate practices. Mr. Whaley joins the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina office following 10 years as a title attorney with Investors Title Insurance Company and 15 years of private practice, where he focused on real estate transactions.
Mr. Whaley devotes his time to the resolution of real property title conflicts, land title litigation, dispute resolution and commercial real estate contract, purchase and leasehold transactions. He is a past president of the North Carolina Land Title Association and has been a frequent course planner and speaker at various North Carolina Bar Association Real Property Section events, leading numerous educational programs for attorneys, lenders and realtors. He is certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission to conduct mediated settlement conferences for the North Carolina Superior Court.
