Atlanta (March 8, 2016) – Clyde Mize, a partner at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP’s is now the Chair of the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program (GDP.) The program provides forums and continuing legal education seminars on diversity trends, policies and initiatives.

“Clyde has been remarkable,” said MMM Managing Partner Louise Wells. “He gives exceptional service to his real estate clients while taking on bigger and bigger leadership roles in both the firm and the community. He is a role-model.”

Mize chairs MMM’s Diversity Committee, and serves on the Executive Committee of MMMPact, the firm’s community outreach effort. He also serves on the board of 100 Black Men of Atlanta, an influential group of business leaders, where he founded the Emerging 100 – an award-winning auxiliary of young professionals. An active member of the Gate City Bar Association, he started the Brother to Brother mentoring program, which provides opportunities for male attorneys and law students to interact, and the annual 1L Law Student Workshop, during which law students participate in mock interviews, resume review sessions and panel discussions.

He is also involved with the YWCA of Northwest Georgia and the Georgia Real Estate Closing Attorneys Association.  Under his leadership as the Chair of the “Big Jacks” Father’s Auxiliary of the Greater Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., Mize established the Big Jacks Leadership Institute for young men and boys in 2014. In 2015, he received the “My Brother’s Keeper” award from the National Bar Association in recognition of his volunteer efforts with young men and boys.

The Georgia Diversity Program conducts events throughout the year, including an annual judicial and summer associates reception, and the High School Pipeline Project for minority students interested in law school. (Mize founded a similar program within MMM, which is now in its eighth year.) The GDP also hosts business development symposiums, which educate law firms about how corporate in-house counsel and corporations measure diversity initiatives when selecting outside counsel. Mize will moderate the GDP’s next Business Development Symposium March 10, which will be held at MMM.
