As a Technical Advisor in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice, Anderson Speed’s primary focus is on drafting patent language and intellectual property strategies for life science, medical devices, healthcare IT and other technologies. Anderson works closely with the IP attorneys within the group preparing materials for use in connection with proceedings, technical matters, along with conducting patentability and freedom to operate analyses.
Anderson has a background in electrical and computer engineering, electrophysiological instrumentation, and cellular and systems neuroscience. Prior to joining the firm, Anderson examined image analysis patents involving AI and machine learning at USPTO. He received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. During his time at Georgia Tech, he studied how neurons generate sensory and motor responses that cause changes in behavior using electrophysiology and computer engineering techniques.
