Pandemic-Related Legal Battles Changing How we Work in Greater Washington and Beyond


While some may feel the pandemic is behind us, pandemic-related legal battles remain. Many complaints have failed, although others have changed, and will continue to change, the way a company does business, writes contracts, and oversees employees. Claims include vaccine mandate challenges, OSHA complaints, remote work flexibility, fair compensation/wage and hour disputes, non-compete agreements, force majeure clauses, and religious exemptions.

MMM's Bonnie Hochman Rothell was called for comment by The Washington Business Journal and noted she is seeing more renegotiated terms of leases, construction contracts, and loan commitments, and that "contracting parties have a renewed interest and changed considerations for the language contained in otherwise standard boilerplate force majeure clauses."
