Atlanta (May 23, 2012) ─ Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP will sponsor an Atlanta event this week featuring high-rankings dignitaries from the Brazilian state of Bahia.
The governor of Bahia will be in town to formalize an agreement to promote cooperation and joint initiatives between the Brazilian state and Fulton County. Fulton County Commission Chairman John Eaves and Gov. Jaques Wagner collaborated on the plan, which will be the first bi-lateral agreement between a local government and an international state.
The following day, May 25, MMM will sponsor a breakfast program highlighting business opportunities between the areas. Brazil has the sixth largest economy in the world – larger even than the United Kingdom. Bahia, which is the nation’s fourth most populous state, exports chemicals, fuel, mineral metallics, agricultural products and paper. It is also a popular destination for tourists.
MMM, which has an alliance with a law firm based in Brazil, has groups specializing in timberland investment and international trade. It also serves clients in a number of industries that interest the delegation, including construction, hospitality & leisure, healthcare, logistics, IT, renewable energy and agribusiness. In addition, partner Stephen Schrock serves on the board of the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce of the Southeast.
The program will be held at the City Club in the Atlanta Financial Center, 3343 Peachtree Road, NE.
