MMM Attorneys Named to Lawyers of Color’s Hot List: Johnson, Breloski Honored

06.25.2013

Atlanta (June 2013) ─ Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP attorneys Carla Johnson and Jeffrey Breloski have been named to the Lawyers of Color's inaugural Hot List. The honor recognizes early- to mid-career attorneys under 40 who are excelling in the legal profession.

“Morris, Manning & Martin is very proud of the efforts demonstrated by Carla and Jeff,” offered Managing Partner Louise M. Wells. “Their commitment to excellence reflects well on the firm and is in keeping with our character. Just as our attorneys are committed to excellence, MMM is committed to providing our clients with a diverse array of attorneys.”

A reception and photo shoot for 100 Southern Region honorees will be held next month in Atlanta. The group will also be featured in the Hot List Special Issue in July.

Johnson, an associate in the firm's Commercial Real Estate Development and Finance Practice, assists developers and owners in a broad range of matters. These include acquisition, development, financing and disposition. She also assists financial institutions engaged in asset-based lending and companies seeking economic development opportunities.

Breloski is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice. His focuses include the electrical, mechanical, medical device and pharmaceutical arts. He assists corporate and individual clients on intellectual property matters including trademark and patent prosecution. He also creates long-term strategies for clients’ IP portfolios, including licensing and development.

The honorees were chosen through a two-pronged process. The selection committee reviewed nominations from mentors, peers and colleagues; it also researched bar publications and legal blogs to identify promising candidates. Lawyers of Color also made editorial picks based on research of attorneys who had noteworthy accomplishments or were active in legal pipeline initiatives.

Lawyers of Color, which was founded as On Being A Black Lawyer, has been recognized by the American Bar Association, National Black Law Students Association, and National Association of Black Journalists. Founded in 2008 as a news and resource center, the company has grown into a social media firm providing research, career development and brand marketing opportunities to clients.
