MMM Again Earns Woodruff Arts Center’s Needle Mover Award

06.13.2019

Atlanta (June 13, 2019) – Morris, Manning & Martin’s fundraising campaign Employees for the Arts (EFA) – the Woodruff Arts Center’s workplace giving program – has earned recognition for the second year in a row. MMM once again earned the EFA Needle Mover Award, which goes to the company that “moved the needle” the most, with the largest percentage of increase over last year’s campaign.

Employees for the Arts encourages employees of Metro Atlanta companies to make personal contributions to support the arts. MMM’s donations rose by approximately 20% over the previous year for a total of $15,000 raised. Several members of the MMM community, including Managing Partner Simon Malko, attended a reception June 10 celebrating the commitment Atlanta’s corporate community made to supporting The Woodruff Arts Center, home of the Alliance Theatre, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and High Museum of Art.

“Giving is an important part of our firm’s culture,” Malko said. “The Employees for the Arts campaign pairs perfectly with MMMPact, our Corporate Social Responsibility program.”

This is not the only way MMM supports the Woodruff. John Yates, who chairs the firm’s Technology Practice, also chairs the Arts Center’s Corporate Campaign. A long-time Woodruff Trustee, Yates led a volunteer committee of more than 60 corporate community leaders to help encourage support for the campaign. He was honored for his service and leadership as campaign chair and his dedication to the Arts Center and the Atlanta community.

“Morris Manning & Martin pulled together as a firm and made a tremendous statement about their support of the arts and the importance of the Woodruff Arts Center in our community’s life,” said Doug Shipman, President & CEO of the Woodruff Arts Center. “Their team members dramatically increased their employee and partner giving to hit a new high and contribute to the success of the Arts Center’s citywide Annual Corporate Campaign. We particularly appreciate the leadership of Morris Manning & Martin partner John Yates, who chaired the Corporate Campaign and rallied corporate support across the city.”

The Woodruff Arts Center is one of the largest arts centers in the world, home to the Tony Award-winning Alliance Theatre, the Grammy Award-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) and the High Museum of Art, the leading art museum in the Southeast. Over 800,000 patrons take part in the Art Center’s outstanding theater, music, exhibitions and education programming each year. For more information, or to donate, visit www.WoodruffCenter.org.
