Larry Kunin Named President-Elect of Fla. Bar Out of State Division

07.07.2020

Atlanta (July 2020) – Larry Kunin, a partner at Morris, Manning & Martin, has been voted President-Elect of the Florida Bar’s Out of State Division. He will become division president in June 2021. This is the second time he has been chosen to serve as president of the Out of State Division.

The Out of State Division represents approximately 14,000 Florida lawyers who live outside of the state. It reviews legislation that may affect out of state lawyers, provides continuing legal education for out of state attorneys to meet those requirements and interacts with the Florida Bar Board of Governors.

Separately, Kunin was reappointed as the out of state liaison to the Florida Bar Business Law Executive Council. He was also reappointed to the bar’s Committee on Technology. He will also continue serving on the Business Law section’s Technology and Computer Law Committee, of which he is a former chair.

As a partner in MMM’s Litigation practice, Kunin serves as Chair of the firm's Technology and Intellectual Property Litigation Practice. He practiced corporate litigation in Miami before joining MMM and gained computer and technology experience as a computer programmer and analyst for The Miami Herald from 1982 to 1986.

“I’m extremely pleased to represent thousands of out of state attorneys who provide legal expertise in Florida and also help expand MMM’s footprint in the state,” Kunin said. “I also look forward to continuing to serve on the bar’s Committee on Technology, which examines technology that lawyers use, as well as the Business Law section’s Tech and Computer Law committee, that works with tech companies and the legal issues that affect them.”

Kunin’s practice concentrates in commercial, technology and intellectual property litigation and consultation, including issues related to software performance, technology implementation, trade secrets, trademarks and copyrights, data security and breach issues, as well as general commercial and business disputes, including business torts. He is also available to serve as a special master or mediator in disputes involving business law issues or technology.
