MMM Earns Top Marks in 2018 Corporate Equality Index

11.09.2017

Atlanta (November 9, 2017) – Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP has earned a perfect score of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 16th Annual Scorecard on LGBTQ Workplace Equality.

The 2018 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality, administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. MMM joins the ranks of 609 major U.S. businesses which also earned top marks this year.

"MMM believes strongly that diversity is key to running a successful business,” said MMM Managing Partner Louise Wells. “We appreciate that CEI set clear guidelines to achieve the goal of the coveted 100% rating."

“Thanks to everyone for their efforts over the past year in attaining a perfect score of 100,” says MMM partner Doug Selph, who heads the firm’s employee affinity group for members of the LGBTQ community and their allies. “Last year was our first time participating in the CEI and we scored 80, which was impressive for our first attempt. This year’s perfect score shows the firm’s commitment to diversity in the workforce.”

The 2018 CEI rated businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. MMM’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria results in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.
