Atlanta (June 2019) – Frank DeBorde, a partner at Morris, Manning & Martin, has been selected to serve as a director of the influential Buckhead Coalition. The nonprofit business and civic association is much like a chamber of commerce for Buckhead, Atlanta’s most affluent quadrant.
“Since Morris, Manning & Martin’s headquarters is in Buckhead, I’ve been able to see the area evolve over the years,” DeBorde said. “As a life-long Atlantan, I look forward to working with the Coalition to encourage business growth while protecting the area’s exceptional quality of life.”
The Buckhead Coalition, which adds members by invitation-only, limits its membership to 100 CEOs and leaders of major area firms. Its mission is to nurture and help coordinate orderly growth within Buckhead’s 28 square miles. It was formed in 1988 by former Atlanta Mayor Sam Massell. Its current chairman is Joseph W. Evans, III, Vice Chairman of Cadence Bancorporation.
DeBorde is the Chair of MMM’s Creditors’ Rights and Bankruptcy Practice. He frequently conducts complex workouts and represents creditors in bankruptcy courts nationwide. His three-decade career also includes representing creditors’ committees in bankruptcy proceedings, handling contested foreclosures and representing lenders in lender liability cases. DeBorde is listed as a top lawyer in bankruptcy in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business and is AV rated, Martindale-Hubbell’s highest peer rating for attorneys.
Morris, Manning & Martin founding partner Sonny Morris, whose long-time affiliation with the Buckhead Coalition includes once serving as its chairman, will stay on in an advisory role.
