Federal Contractor Vaccine Deadline Extended to January 4, 2022

11.04.2021

The White House just announced that it is moving the deadline for covered contractor employees to be fully vaccinated. The new deadline matches the date of the Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) vaccine rule for employers with more than 100 employees and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) vaccine rule which covers health care workers at facilities participating in Medicare and Medicaid. The OSHA Rule and CMS rule were also announced today. The new deadline or all three rules is January 4, 2022. The White House announcement makes clear that the OSHA rule, which varies slightly from the federal contractor requirements, will not apply to federal contractors.
