Louise M. Wells is the Managing Partner of Morris, Manning & Martin, an AmLaw 200 firm, and the founding partner of the Firm’s Residential Real Estate Practice.
Under the leadership of Ms. Wells, the firm has grown substantially, consistently achieving annual revenue and headcount growth. She views intelligent and intentional growth of MMM as a strategic imperative. To ensure the Firm continues to meet and exceed client expectations, she is dedicated to continually evaluating and, as needed, accentuating MMM’s capabilities in core industries and practice areas. Ms. Wells is also focused on maintaining the unique cultural aspects of the Firm that allow it to be both a great platform for its attorneys and a great place to work for its staff. She leads the firm’s Executive Committee, working closely with them on the day to day administration of the firm, and the firm’s Management Committee, which is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the firm.
After more than 30 years of involvement in Atlanta real estate, Ms. Wells has become a mentor to young women in real estate law, having begun her practice as the first female lawyer at Morris, Manning & Martin, subsequently becoming the firm’s first female partner, and now the first female Managing Partner.
In addition to mentoring young lawyers, Ms. Wells is committed to community service, both personally and for the firm. The creation of the MMMPact Committee, the community outreach arm of the firm, is a signature accomplishment for Ms. Wells. She has overseen its since its inception in 2010 to today when it touches dozens of charities every year and provides hundreds of hours of volunteer community service and pro bono legal services. She currently serves on the regional Board of Directors of Horizons (an academic enrichment program designed to promote the potential of a diverse population of public school children from economically disadvantaged families) and the site board of Horizons at Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School. She is a Board Member of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, and a former Trustee of Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School. She is also a past board member of Mothers and Daughters Against Cancer (MADAC.)
