Employee Data-Security Risks and Breaches

05.14.2014

As the daily news shows us, data security breaches are increasing at an alarming rate.  However, many of these breaches are initiated by simple, innocent mistakes from employees, not malicious outsiders targeting the organization.  This webinar will explore the vulnerabilities inside many companies' technology infrastructures and the steps you can take to mitigate risks and damages from data breaches.  Key topics which will be discussed include:

  • Identifying your company’s vulnerability to employee breaches
  • Minimizing the risks of employee breaches
  • How to obtain cyber liability insurance for your company
  • Why lawyers (outside and in-house) should be concerned about employee breaches
  • Content, timing and jurisdictional notice requirements for employee breaches
  • Tactics for defending lawsuits arising out employee breaches

This webinar is the second in a series which will address data security, compliance, breach prevention and risk mitigation.  The recording is available via the link on the left of the screen.

A recording of the first webinar, Data Protection and PCI Compliance, can also be viewed on the MMM web site.  Read more and register now for our third webinar,  Obtaining Cyber Insurance & Adopting a Security Incident Response Plan, scheduled on June 4.

Please contact kpearch@mmmlaw.com with any questions about the webinar series.
