Cody Goff is an Associate in the firm’s Environmental and Construction Practices. Mr. Goff has experience representing clients during complex real estate transactions involving the sale and redevelopment of environmentally impacted property, including the negotiation of contractual risk allocation provisions, access agreements, remediation agreements, and pollution legal liability insurance policies. Mr. Goff is experienced with all aspects of the federal Superfund law (the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act) and its state equivalents (including Georgia’s Hazardous Site Response Act) and routinely advises national clients with respect to the legal, financial, and practical implications of compliance with environmental laws. Mr. Goff also advises clients on projects requiring wetlands permitting pursuant to the Clean Water Act, including complex projects which require analysis pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act.
Mr. Goff assists clients in every phase of the construction process, from the negotiation and drafting of construction contracts to complex litigation. Mr. Goff’s construction and commercial litigation experience includes representing clients in matters involving construction defect actions, breach of contract claims, lien foreclosures, challenges to local ordinances, and governmental bid protests.
