Tom Burch is an Attorney in the firm’s Real Estate Development & Finance Practice group. His practice is focused on the representation of developers and investors in mixed-use and office developments, as well as in joint ventures and other equity investments. Having previously worked in Japan, he has in-depth knowledge of cross border financings.
Prior to joining Morris, Manning & Martin, Mr. Burch served as the general counsel for Pope & Land, a leading mixed-use developer. Prior to serving as general counsel, he practiced law for 30 years in Georgia, Illinois and Japan. Mr. Burch was a partner with Paul Hastings, Jones Day, and Hansel & Post.
Mr. Burch received his B.S. degree, with honors, and his J.D. degree, also with honors, both from the University of Illinois. He was Editor-in-Chief of the Law Forum, the University of Illinois’ law review, and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
Before attending law school, Mr. Burch served in the U.S. Army (Captain, Armor) from 1968 to 1971. His military awards include the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Medal and the Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
