Sabahat Chaudhary is an attorney in the firm’s International Trade practice.  She has extensive experience in antidumping and countervailing duty investigations and reviews and appears before the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the Court of International Trade.  She also counsels companies on compliance with U.S. export and import laws, and provides strategic input on global expansion and supply chain solutions. 

Sabahat represents domestic and foreign corporations, state-owned enterprises and foreign governments in unfair trade disputes before the United States trade tribunals.  She has also counseled a U.S. manufacturer in an antidumping investigation before the People’s Republic of China.

Sabahat also advises U.S. importers with regard to a variety of issues relating to U.S. Customs and Border Protection including classification, country of origin marking, investigations, rulings, prepenalty notices and prior disclosures.

Prior to joining the firm, Sabahat was Counsel in the International Trade practice of Perkins Coie LLP and an Associate at Howrey LLP.  Prior to attending law school, she worked at St. Martin’s Press in New York and served for a year as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Washington, D.C., providing literacy tutoring to homeless adults.

Representative Experience

  • Representative cases include the following U.S. International Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Commerce antidumping and countervailing duty investigations and administrative reviews: Corrosion-Resistant Steel Products from China, India, Italy, Korea, and Taiwan; Hot-Rolled Steel Products from the Republic of Korea; Uncoated Paper from the People’s Republic of China; Corrosion-Resistant Steel Products from Korea and Taiwan, Cut-To-Length Steel Plate from Korea; Large Diameter Welded Pipe from Korea; Oil Country Tubular Goods from Korea and Turkey; Certain Softwood Lumber Products from Canada; and Supercalendared Paper from Canada.
  • Experience preparing client for and participating in verification by Department of Commerce officials.
  • Experience in developing detailed export control compliance programs for major corporations.
