Kroopa S. Desai is an associate with the firm’s Employment Practice. Ms. Desai strives to create innovative solutions that meet each client’s unique needs and goals. She regularly represents employers in a broad range of employment matters arising under federal, state and local laws.

Ms. Desai has extensive experience counseling employers across various jurisdictions, including D.C., Georgia, Illinois, and Missouri, on the following topics:

  • Handbooks, policies and procedures;
  • Employee performance management;
  • Complaints of discrimination, harassment and retaliation;
  • Workplace investigations; and
  • Reductions in workforce and employee terminations.

Ms. Desai negotiates and drafts employment-related documents and contracts, including offer letters, restrictive covenant agreements, confidentiality agreements and separation agreements. She also conducts training regarding workplace harassment and handling internal investigations.

When the need for litigation arises, Ms. Desai represents employers seeking to enforce restrictive covenants agreements and pursue other claims against former employees and/or their new employers in both federal and state court.  She also defends employers in litigation involving claims of discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation, and other employment-related issues.

Prior to joining MMM, Ms. Desai was an associate at a global law firm, specializing in labor & employment law, and served as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Robert Okun of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
