Brian Gamsey is an Associate in the firm’s Corporate Technology and Technology Transactions Practice Groups where he focuses on technology-related venture capital buy-side/sell-side M&A transactions and on technology transactions with a specialty in data security and privacy due diligence. Brian also has experience helping clients respond to data security incidents while complying with state and federal breach notification requirements.
Prior to entering private practice, Brian worked for a Big 4 accounting firm working in the Transaction Advisory Services group. His work focused on goodwill impairment and intangible asset valuation. Brian then started and ran a privately held business in the food industry. While at UNC Law, Brian also worked with the Carolina Angel Network sourcing, screening, and conducting diligence on venture capital investments in UNC-affiliated companies, on behalf of UNC-affiliated investors. He also founded and continues to serve on the board of directors for a nonprofit organization that uses sports to promote health, education, and community service to at-risk youth.
