MMM’s Michele Madison Earns Healthcare Leadership Award

Atlanta (November 20, 2017) – Michele Madison, a Partner in the Healthcare Group of Morris, Manning & Martin, has received a prestigious award from one of the nation’s premier healthcare technology associations. The Health IT Leadership Summit honored her with the Pat Williams’ Community
Leader of the Year Award. The presentation was part of the Phoenix Awards, which the Metro Atlanta Chamber presented on Nov. 7 during the Summit’s annual meeting.

Madison is a tireless volunteer with the state’s healthcare system, advocating to keep much-needed local hospitals open in rural areas. She also encourages people to pursue careers in healthcare IT. Georgia is a national leader in health IT and is home to more than 225 health IT companies employing approximately 26,000 people.

As a partner in MMM’s Healthcare Group, she advises health systems including hospitals, physician offices, integrated health systems, information technology companies, electronic medical record vendors and personal health record providers on various legal, regulatory and business matters. She is ranked in Chambers USA, Best Lawyers and other independent ranking services.

Madison chairs the TAG Health Society, the healthcare arm of The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the state’s leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia’s tech industry. She also serves a Secretary of the Institute for Healthcare Information Technology. She is also a Member of the American Health Lawyers Association, Georgia Academy of Healthcare Attorneys, Healthcare Financial Management Association and Health Information Management Services Systems.

Created in 2010 by the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Metro Atlanta Chamber and the Technology Association of Georgia’s Health Society, the Health IT Leadership Summit brings together leaders from across the healthcare continuum to discuss how the industry can drive innovation to enable better healthcare delivery at lower costs to more people. The theme of this year’s Health IT Leadership Summit was: “What’s Next in Healthcare? Initiating Collaboration and Innovation in Our Communities.” Panels addressed topics such as the move to value-based care, the Health IT workforce, consumer digital health and cybersecurity.
