Atlanta (April 2016) – The Daily Report, Atlanta’s leading legal publication, is honoring John Lockett, a Partner in the Commercial Litigation practice at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, as part of its 2016 “On the Rise” class. The distinction recognizes attorneys under age 40 who distinguish themselves as community leaders, and are expected to do great things in law.
"This is yet another sign of what a great Litigation Practice we have,” said MMM Managing Partner Louise Wells. “John works hard for his clients, the firm and the community. We're very proud of him."
Lockett handles high stakes litigation for banks, investors, real estate developers, universities and technology firms in a wide variety of complex commercial matters nationwide.
Clients describe Lockett as fantastic, tenacious, detailed, accessible, knowledgeable and tremendously influential. He also donates time to pro bono causes, including representation of a nonprofit focused on feeding low-income children.
The judges evaluated nominees on criteria including legal skills, innovation and/or uniqueness, ability to build a robust book of business, and leadership. Previous winners have gone on to flourishing careers in business, politics and the judiciary. On the Rise honorees will be celebrated at a June 23 event, which will also recognize lawyers honored for lifetime achievement.
