Atlanta (August 26, 2013) ─ Duncan Miller, a Partner at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, is included in a list of the state’s most promising lawyers under age 40. The Daily Report, a legal publication serving the Atlanta area, has named him one of its 2013 lawyers “On the Rise.”
Miller serves in the firm’s Real Estate Development and Finance, Hospitality, Commercial Finance, Commercial Real Estate Debt Management and Real Estate Capital Markets Practices. For seven years, he has been the primary partner on many of MMM’s largest commercial real estate deals. These include multi-million dollar transactions involving some of the most active real estate companies in the country. Clients describe him as going above and beyond to protect their interests, having a moral compass that’s always pointed in the most honorable direction.
He also donates considerable time to the Ga. Innocence Project, which works to clear wrongly-convicted criminal defendants and help them resume their lives. “When people envision volunteers, he’s what they want,” Project Director Aimee Maxwell has said. Instead of seeking high-profile cases, Maxwell says he seeks out the toughest assignments that help the group reach its goals.
Miller is a Buckhead YMCA board member and an Alzheimer’s Association volunteer. He also works with children as the assistant varsity lacrosse coach at Lovett School.
Since 2002, the Daily Report has recognized about 150 up-and-coming young lawyers on its list of rising stars. The list, editors say, has proved to be a reliable identifier of young talent destined for great things. Miller and the other honorees are profiled in the publication’s August 19 print edition and on its website, www.dailyreportonline.com.
