07.23.2008

The law firm of Morris, Manning and Martin, LLP (MMM) announced today that its partner, Richard L. Haury, Jr., has joined CrossLink Orthopaedics, LLC. Mr. Haury is serving as a senior executive officer, business development leader and as general counsel of CrossLink. He will also be responsible for leading investments in promising medical device and bioscience companies and providing a broad range of business and financial consulting services.

CrossLink is an Atlanta-based, privately-owned medical device company, and is a leading agent of Stryker Orthopaedics. Stryker is a leader in the worldwide orthopaedic market and among the 10 largest medical technology companies in the world. CrossLink also sells other devices through its affiliates, CrossLink Spine and CrossLink Medical.

Mr. Haury will also serve as President of WebOps, LLC, an affiliate of CrossLink. WebOps is an award-winning web-based software system that manages the medical device supply and service chains.

Mr. Haury will also play a leading role in helping CrossLink to establish an affiliated angel fund to invest in early-stage medical device and healthcare related companies and plans to continue to counsel select early-stage medical device companies throughout the Southeast.

Mr. Haury has been an attorney at MMM for over 20 years and has worked with a broad range of companies in the medical device and technology areas. Along with fellow MMM attorney John Yates, Mr. Haury is one of the original founders of the Southeastern Medical Device Association (SEMDA) and is past President and a current Board member. He is also serving as Co-Chairman of SEMDA’s 2009 Investor Conference to be held next Spring.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for Rick at CrossLink and its affiliated entities,” said Robert Saudek, Managing Partner of MMM. “Rick has helped MMM develop excellent practices in the medical device, biotech and healthcare fields, and we look forward to working with him in his new role as a businessman and investor in growing medical device and other life science related companies.”

“This is a natural extension of my work at MMM for the past two decades,” commented Mr. Haury. “I really enjoy providing broad-based business, legal, financial and consulting services to early stage and middle market companies, especially in the medical device area. Crosslink provides the perfect environment and platform for me to merge these skills to help medical device companies grow and succeed throughout the Southeast.”

“We are very excited for Rick as he pursues his interests in providing business development, financial and consulting services to medical device and biotech companies,” said John Yates, Chair of the Technology Group at MMM. “We also look forward to working closely with Rick and Crosslink in promoting the medical device industry through our mutual work with SEMDA and representation of leading medical device companies like Crosslink.”

“I am honored to have been affiliated with MMM my entire professional career and will miss my colleagues at MMM but will be continuing my strong ties to attorneys at the firm,” stated Mr. Haury. “I will continue to rely on the firm for sophisticated legal services that MMM provides to growing medical device and bioscience companies in areas like corporate finance, patent/IP, capital raising and complex transactions. I am extremely excited about the tremendous growth opportunities and the future of the medical device industry over the next couple of decades and look forward to devoting my full energy and attention to ensuring that Atlanta and the Southeast play a major role in that success.”
