MMM Launches Transactional Franchise Law Practice

Atlanta (November 14, 2016) – Led by partner Frederick C.C. Boyd III, Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP has enjoyed one of the leading Franchise Finance practices in the U.S. for roughly two decades. Led by partner Christopher E. Maxwell, the firm is launching a Transactional Franchise practice to broaden its service offerings to a key client base and leverage the firm’s current position as one of the Nation’s most active law firms in middle market M&A. The Transactional Franchise practice will focus on representing franchisors and franchisees in a broad array of transactions, including equity and debt financings, acquisitions  of competitor systems, acquisitions of rights and operating units of franchisee networks, sales of company-owned units to franchisee networks and sales of franchise systems to private equity groups and other potential buyers.

The firm’s Franchise Group will also assist franchisors and franchisees with regulatory matters as well as providing day to day counsel, including with respect to corporate governance, employment and benefit matters, real estate matters, intellectual property matters and data security and privacy matters.

The firm’s Transactional Franchise Practice also will be hosting a free webinar on December 7, 2016 from noon to 1:00 p.m. The Year-End Human Resource Compliance Review and Check-Up, will cover topics including new wage and hour rules, the Affordable Care Act, and retirement and human resources planning as they apply to franchisors and franchisees.
