Atlanta (June 14, 2021) – The Georgia Legal Food Frenzy Competition, which raises awareness for hunger throughout the year, surpassed its 2021 goal. The competition, now in its 10th year, raised $936,883 statewide. Most of the donations came from 175 teams in the Atlanta area, which raised $711,910 in the Atlanta area alone, providing enough funds for almost three million meals.
This was the first year Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP participated in the fundraiser. Its donations earned the firm the designation of “Rookie of the Year.” The special award for the Atlanta area recognizes MMM’s contribution as a new and promising team.
MMM’s $6,116 contribution will provide the equivalent of 24,468 meals through the Atlanta Community Food Bank. The Food Bank and its more than 700 nonprofit partners help more than 864,000 people across Metro Atlanta and North Georgia get nutritious meals when they need them each year.
The annual drive, now in its 10th year, is held in unison with the state’s Office of the Attorney General Chris Carr, the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Food Bank Association.
