MMM Donates to Haiti Relief Efforts

08.30.2021

Atlanta (August 30, 2021) – Lawyers and staff members at Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP have donated $6,284 dollars to Haitian earthquake relief efforts. The funds went to Hope for Haiti, a widely respected nonprofit organization working to reduce poverty in the Caribbean nation.

A 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit August 14 caused extensive damage and loss of life in urban and rural communities. The charity will hire Haitian construction firms and workers to remove rubble and repair homes as well as educational, sanitation, and healthcare facilities. The donations will also help provide medical supplies, home water filtration systems and more.

“The desperate plight of the Haitian people goes on, and they need our help,” wrote Litigation Partner Seslee Smith, who organized the relief effort. “The recent disaster comes after an extremely challenging few years for Haitian families who have endured political and civil unrest, food, water, and economic insecurity, in addition to the recent outbreak of COVID-19.”

The firm set up a dedicated page for donations. MMMPact, the firm’s corporate social responsibility outreach, provided matching funds. For more information, or to donate to the ongoing relief efforts, visit HopeforHaiti.com.
