Gerald Pouncey, Bill Sheppard to Speak at Land Use Conference

Two partners in Morris, Manning & Martin’s Environmental group will play key roles in an upcoming land use conference.

Gerald Pouncey will co-chair the event, titled Land Use and Growth in Georgia: New Regulations, Rules and Challenges. It is set for Jan. 17 and 18 at the Crowne Plaza Buckhead Hotel. Pouncey will also deliver an address on the Redevelopment of Contaminated Properties, covering topics such as developing clean-up, regulatory and risk allocation strategies to ensure that redeveloped properties are marketable.

Morris, Manning’s Bill Sheppard will also address the group. His topic is New Wetlands Case Law: Regulations and Guidance on Clean Water Act Jurisdiction.

The conference will address the increasing pressures of growth and development, and what state federal and local governments are doing to manage the expansion. Policy makers and leading attorneys will discuss issues including air quality, wetland and stream buffer protection, as well as regulations, procedures and court rulings governing development.
