On July 1, 2022, Commissioner John F. King issued Directive 22-EX-5 to inform self-funded healthcare plans of the procedures for participating in Georgia's Surprise Billing Consumer Protection Act (the Act). Self-funded healthcare plans who wish to opt-in to the Act must complete the form found here and submit to the Georgia DOI's Administrative Procedure Division at adminproc@oci.ga.gov.
