Connect Real Estate Law Awards Honor Duncan Miller

12.09.2020

Atlanta (December 2020) – Duncan Miller, who chairs Morris, Manning & Martin’s nationally-known Commercial Real Estate Practice, is being honored in Connect Media's inaugural Lawyers in Real Estate Awards. Connect – an online real estate news service – selected only 50 attorneys nationwide for the ranking, which was announced Dec. 9. The awards spotlight attorneys making an impact both through their practice in real estate-related matters and their contributions as members of the industry and the community. Miller’s profile on the Connect Media site can be seen here.

MMM’s Real Estate group represents some of the largest real estate organizations across the country. It is one of Commercial Property Executive’s Top 20 real estate law firms. It is also ranked nationally by “Best Law Firms,” published by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers. In addition to chairing the practice, Miller, who is only 43 years old, is also involved in firm management through his post on MMM’s Executive Committee. He is also a partner in MMM’s Real Estate Development and Finance, Hospitality, Commercial Finance, Commercial Real Estate Debt Management and Real Estate Capital Markets Practices.

He has represented developers, financial institutions and investors in all phases of commercial real estate transactions including financing, acquisitions, dispositions, lending and the development of hotels, office, apartments, condominiums, industrial and retail. He also has extensive experience representing lenders in acquisition, construction and permanent financing for hotel development throughout the U.S. National private equity funds, local owner/operators and lenders in all phases of the acquisition, workout and disposition of commercial real estate distressed debt are clients as well.

As for community service, he volunteered for years with the Georgia Innocence Project – a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals convicted of crimes they did not commit. He was known for jumping in to do anything that was needed – not just the glamorous work. He contributes now as a fund-raiser and donor. He also raises funds for nonprofits including Gigi’s Playhouse, a national organization which offers free educational, therapeutic-based and career development programs for individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the community. He also helps supports Study Hall, which provides assistance to low-income students with learning disabilities. He is also a volunteer coach for sports at Atlanta’s Lovett School.
