Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP is seeking a Trademark Paralegal to join our Intellectual Property group in our Atlanta office. This position is responsible for handling all of the trademark reporting and maintenance matters. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who is detail-oriented, well-organized, and maintains positive relationships with colleagues and clients. This full-time position will collaborate on a team with attorneys, patent paralegals, coordinators, and assistants in order to best serve the needs of our clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred with a minimum of five (5) years of Trademark Paralegal experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with partners and colleagues
- Flexible and patient demeanor while meeting strict deadlines
- Strict observation of confidentiality
- Strong work ethic with positive, team-player attitude
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage trademark clearance, registration, and maintenance/renewals for clients
- Assist in diligence process for corporate matters, e.g. mergers and acquisitions
- Prepare and file assignments of trademarks in the U.S. and coordinate the same for foreign jurisdictions
- Convey and draft instructions to U.S. and foreign counsel related to trademark matters
- Support attorneys to prepare documents pertinent to oppositions, cancellations or litigations
- Assist attorneys in managing trademark clearance research results
- Develop and execute trademark portfolio reports using specialized software
- Support trademark-related projects
- Prepare documents for filing with the Patent and Trademark Office
- Ability to work overtime
- Other tasks as assigned
