Homer “Lee” Walker is a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Development & Finance, Real Estate Capital Markets, Sustainability and Funds & Alternative Investments practices where he focuses on the development and operational aspects of commercial and residential projects, including complex mixed-use projects, as well as formation and capitalization of joint venture platforms and investment funds. His clients include leading national REITs and developers, among them Atlanta-based Regent Partners, the developer of Buckhead’s award winning 50-story Sovereign Building.
Mr. Walker is featured as one of the leading Georgia lawyers for real estate in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (2005-2012) and is listed for excellence in commercial real estate in The Best Lawyers in America (2006-2012) and Georgia Super Lawyers (2006, 2008-2012). Representative Transactions
- Represented the owner of Tower Place, a mixed-use project located in Atlanta, Georgia , for over 17 years, during which Mr. Walker handled all acquisition, joint venture, finance, development and disposition aspects related to over 2.85 million square feet of integrated office, residential, hotel, retail and related improvements.
- Represents one of the country’s largest industrial developers in the formation of investment and development joint ventures pursuant to which industrial real estate assets valued in excess of $1.5 billion have been acquired, financed and developed.
- Represents a publicly traded REIT in joint venture and development aspects of its office, retail and industrial development projects.
- Represents clients with respect to development joint venture transactions, including hotel projects in Texas, Illinois, South Carolina and Connecticut and a joint venture between a private university and a publicly traded REIT for the development of a campus-oriented, mixed-use residential and retail complex located in Atlanta, Georgia.
