Dana S. Durrett is an associate in the firm’s Healthcare Practice, where he focuses his practice in litigation and regulatory compliance. Mr. Durrett has over seven years of regulatory and litigation experience in the healthcare arena, providing him with broad experience in audits, Certificate of Need matters, internal investigations, state licensing and professional boards, administrative appeals and healthcare operations.
Mr. Durrett has extensive litigation expertise and has successfully defended physicians, long-term care facilities, and other health care providers in all phases of litigation, from pre-suit investigation through appeal. Mr. Durrett has also defended healthcare providers against private and government audits, whether undertaken by Recovery Audit Contractors (RAC's), Care Management Organizations (CMO's), or Medicaid Integrity Contractors (MIC's). In addition, Mr. Durrett has advised LTC providers regarding general health care compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Mr. Durrett recently represented LTC providers in multiple local taxation matters.

- Assisting health care facilities throughout Georgia in meeting Georgia's nuanced and politically-sensitive Certificate of Need requirements.
- Representing clients in many aspects of their operations, including certificate of need, letters of non-reviewability, licensure, local taxation, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Counseling long-term facilities on how to comply with changes in Georgia's law governing criminal background checks upon employees.
- Assisting providers with criminal or quasi-criminal issues.
