Rob Byrd is an associate in the firm’s Healthcare Practice. - Drafted, reviewed, revised, and negotiated over sixty agreements for a medical device manufacturer, including pricing agreements with hospitals and group purchasing organizations, consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements, service agreements, equipment lease agreements, consignment agreements, and event contracts.
- Reviewed various types of agreements to assure compliance with HIPAA and other federal regulations.
- Drafted and revised physician’s employment agreements.
- Researched and drafted memoranda on a variety of issues, including the regulation of faculty physician practice groups, the application of the rural provider exemption under the Stark law, the legal restrictions of charitable donations to the charitable arm of a physician’s practice, and disclosure requirements for a quality improvement organization (QIO) pursuant to federal regulations.
