Dr. Goswami is a Technical Advisor in the Intellectual Property Practice. Dr. Goswami has over seven years experience in research and development environments, particularly in the fields of computer modeling/simulation, internet, multimedia technologies, and next generation wireless communication protocols and networks. His doctoral work focused on the design of adaptive, energy-efficient techniques for transmission/reception of messages in randomly fluctuating wireless channels. He proposed optimal and sub-optimal techniques that allow geographically distributed peers to decide independently whether to become intermediate forwarders for the message where communication proceeds through one or more geographically distributed peers. Dr. Goswami was also involved in the design of advanced wireless air-interface techniques for improving the performance of 2G and 3G technologies at Qualcomm’s Corporate R&D division in San Diego. At Qualcomm, he was also involved in the development of efficient transmission strategies involving multiple antennas on mobile devices.
In graduate school, Dr. Goswami assisted in the development of an adaptive video coding algorithm for the transmission of video for energy-deficient wireless devices. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a post-doctoral Associate at the University of Florida and was involved in the design of computational tools and techniques for infectious disease control on behalf of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
