Washington D.C. (November 13, 2013) ─ Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP has recruited a litigation group to join its expanding D.C. office. Bonnie Hochman Rothell has joined the firm as a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice and will be joined by an associate and paralegal. She will work closely with the firm’s Real Estate and Commercial Finance/Lending practices.
Prior to moving to MMM, Rothell chaired Krooth and Altman’s Litigation and Risk Management Practice. She specializes in matters involving HUD, Fannie Mae, USDA, GNMA and Freddie Mac and private lending and mortgage originating and servicing. Client’s seek her advice and guidance prior to litigation in an effort to engage in risk management strategies and litigation avoidance. Rothell has handled numerous creditors’ rights issues, lender liability types of claims, construction disputes and has extensive experience with defaulted loans, including the FHA assignment process. MMM views Rothell and her team as excellent fits with the firm’s extensive real estate and commercial finance/lending teams.

Rothell has been practicing law for more than 25 years, almost exclusively with a focus on litigation and risk avoidance. She also specializes in creditors’ rights & bankruptcy matters, representing both lenders and borrowers. Rothell’s practice also involves a broad range of disputes derived from employment matters. She received her B.A. with honors from Brandeis University and J.D. cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law.
In July of 2013, MMM moved to 1401 Eye Street with the intention of doubling its presence in D.C. within the next year or less.
