Dan Huynh Chairs MMM’s Diversity Initiative

02.04.2020

Atlanta (February 4, 2020) – Daniel Huynh is now the chair of Morris, Manning & Martin’s Diversity Initiative. The Initiative is part of MMMPact, the firm’s social responsibility strategy. Huynh, a partner in the firm’s fast-growing Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation groups, says he is looking forward to the challenge.

“I look forward to carrying on the firm’s longstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. I’m fortunate to inherit a wealth of programming aimed at promoting and retaining diverse talent, but I also want to look at the firm’s diversity initiatives with a fresh pair of eyes,” Huynh said. “One out of every four of our incoming attorneys at MMM is diverse. Our challenge now is making sure we keep these attorneys and staff members here. I want to ensure that the firm is a place they can see themselves staying and prospering until they retire.”

Huynh’s other goals include increasing networking opportunities both inside and outside of the firm. This would include making sure that diverse attorneys have opportunities to meet with firm leadership and connect with diverse in-house counsel. He also hopes to strengthen connections with diverse students at law schools and host panels for law students in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., which are the firm’s largest locations.

“MMMPact is an important part of MMM’s culture and identity,” said MMM Managing Partner Simon Malko. “Dan’s incredible background in volunteerism will help expand on the already great work the Diversity Initiative is doing.”

Huynh is deeply involved in diversity and community issues. The ADL (Anti-Defamation League) Southeast Region recently announced it will honor Huynh with the Emerging Leader Award in March. Other honorees include Congressman John Lewis and former American Bar Association President Linda Klein.

The Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association (GAPABA) honored him with its 2019 Rising Star Award. He serves on the boards of GAPABA, the National Conference of Vietnamese American Attorneys and Asian Americans Advancing Justice. He is also a founding member and board member of the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Georgia. The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association selected him as a 2018 Leadership Advancement Program fellow.

He received the Pro Bono Award from the Atlanta IP Inn of Court, a prestigious invitation-only professional organization. He was a member of the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 40 Under 40 class of 2016 and has been on the Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for IP litigation since 2015. He was also selected as a Lead Atlanta Class Member in 2015.

“2020’s gonna be a great year for the firm and its talented, diverse attorneys and staff,” he concluded.
