MMM Partners Co-Chair Ga. Bar’s New Nonprofit Law Section
The Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia has unanimously approved the formation of a new section of the State Bar of Georgia: The Nonprofit Law Section. Morris, Manning & Martin partners Cass Brewer and Brooks Binder will serve as the initial co-chairs. Plans for this recently-approved section include an annual continuing legal education (CLE) program, an analysis of Georgia laws governing nonprofit organizations and a newsletter for attorneys serving nonprofits across Georgia.
Brewer and Binder’s initial tasks include soliciting new members and developing detailed plans for the first year of operation. Both are partners in the firm’s Exempt Organizations practice and routinely represent nonprofit, religious and other tax-exempt organizations on a wide range of corporate and transactional issues. Once membership details are announced, all members of the State Bar of Georgia will be invited to join the new section.
