Bryan G. Harrison is a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice. Mr. Harrison joined Morris, Manning & Martin from the United States Department of Justice, Antitrust Division. As a trial attorney with the Antitrust Division, Mr. Harrison reviewed and investigated potential anticompetitive effects of proposed transactions under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act and investigated and prosecuted numerous criminal antitrust and fraud actions.

Since joining the firm, Mr. Harrison’s practice has focused primarily on advising clients regarding patent, trademark and copyright infringement, computer system performance, and antitrust and unfair competition, as well as prosecuting and defending actions in which such issues arise. He serves as regional or national litigation counsel for clients and has prosecuted or defended cases in the various courts of over 25 states, Canada, and the European Union.

Mr. Harrison has spoken and written articles concerning patent infringement, software copyright, electronic commerce, antitrust and other areas of the law and has provided pro bono services to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta and its parishes.

In the Matter of Certain Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters and Devices Containing Same, (U.S.I.T.C.) (represented respondent manufacturer in ITC investigation relating to ground fault circuit interrupters, completed 2 week trial and obtained favorable final decision by Commission)

Ricoh Co. Ltd. v. General Plastic Indus. Co., Ltd., (D.N.J.) (represented the defendant in a patent infringement suit involving numerous copier toner bottle patents, obtaining summary judgment of non-infringement on certain claims and highly favorable settlement of remaining claims)

Leviton Mfg. Co., Inc. v. Zheijiang Dongzheng Elec. Co., Ltd., (D.N.M.) (represented the defendant in a patent infringement suit involving ground fault circuit interrupters; obtaining summary judgment of non-infringement)

Light Valve Soln’s, v.3M, et al., (N.D. Ga.) (represented the plaintiff in a patent infringement suit involving compact projector technology; obtained highly favorable settlements)

In the Matter of Certain Light Emitting Diode Chips, Laser Diode Chips and Products Containing Same, (U.S.I.T.C.) (represented respondent manufacturer in ITC investigation relating to solid state LEDs, obtained a highly favorable settlement)

Taymac v. Magnatron, et al., (M.D.Fl) (represented the defendant in a patent infringement suit involving in-use weatherproof covers; obtained highly favorable settlement)

Best Lighting v. RT Electrical, et al., (M.D.Fl) (represented the defendant in a patent infringement suit involving light fixtures; obtained highly favorable settlement)

EMC Corp. v. Columbia Data Products, Inc., (D. Ut.) (represented the defendant in a patent infringement suit involving computer memory process, settled case on the eve of trial with highly favorable settlement)

EBS Dealing Resources, Ltd. v. Intercontinental Exchange, Inc., (S.D.N.Y.) (represented the defendant in a patent infringement action involving computerized trading systems, obtaining highly favorable settlement for client after Markman ruling)

Evolution, Inc. v. SunTrust Bank, (D. Kan.) (represented the defendant in a software copyright infringement action involving insurance premium accounting software, obtaining summary judgment on copyright claims and jury verdict on all remaining claims)

Lucas v. Wild Dunes Real Estate, Inc., (D. S.C.) (represented the defendant in a copyright and trademark infringement action, obtaining jury verdict, damages and attorneys’ fee award in favor of client)

1mage Software, Inc. v. The Reynolds and Reynolds Company, (D.Colo.) (represented the defendant in a software copyright infringement action involving document imaging software, obtaining highly favorable award in arbitration compelled by the court and upheld on appeal by the 10th Cir)
