Louise M. Wells is the managing partner of Morris, Manning & Martin and the founding partner of the firm’s Residential Real Estate Practice. Ms. Wells also represents lenders in loan workouts and foreclosures.

Ms. Wells specializes in residential real estate closings, as well as all aspects of the assemblage, acquisition, financing, and development of properties into residential communities. Ms. Wells’ client base includes many of the Southeast’s largest lenders, developers and builders. For these clients, she handles the negotiation and closing of land and lot acquisitions, manages the negotiation and closing of land, development, construction and permanent home loans, and prepares access, utility, conservation and other easements necessary for the development of a property. Ms. Wells also regularly handles the conduction of title exams and the issuance of title insurance, prepares declarations of restrictive covenants for single-family, townhome, neighborhood and condominium communities, and assists with the incorporation and representation of homeowner and condominium associations.

After more than thirty years of involvement in Atlanta real estate, Ms. Wells has become a mentor to young women in real estate law, having begun her practice as the first female lawyer at Morris, Manning & Martin, subsequently becoming the firm’s first female partner, and now the first female managing partner.

In addition to mentoring young lawyers, Ms. Wells is committed to community service.
